Robbery with a handgun reported near 5700 block of Route 17
The York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office is notifying residents about a recent incident involving robbery with a handgun that occurred in the Yorktown area.
The incident was reported in the 5700 block of Route 17 at 11:20 p.m. Sept. 29.
According to the report, "The suspect approached the victim, pointed the gun at him and demanded undisclosed items. The victim complied and ran away. As the victim ran away the suspect fired at least one shot, but did not hit the victim."
Police described the suspect as an a black male, a 5-foot-9 to 6-foot-2 and 160 to 190 pounds.
