Eight Poquoson runners complete Toys for Tots Thanksgiving Day 8K

Eight athletes from Poquoson completed the Toys for Tots Thanksgiving Day 8K on Nov. 22 in Newport News.

The runners from Poquoson and their finishing times were Nathan Nickerson, 50, 36:29; Gary Fredericksen, 56, 38:35; Abigail Fredericksen, 21, 38:35; Laura Laine, 30, 41:32; Marci Hill, 51, 45:42; Jacob Hill, 25, 47:05; Richard Neville, 53, 55:31; and Sharon Bochman, 49, 59:22.

According to Toys for Tots Thanksgiving Day 8K organizers, a total of 211 runners finished the 8K race, which was held at The Mariners' Museum.

Mark C. Hardman, of Newport News, was the men's overall winner with a time of 29:29, while Karen Terry, also of Newport News, was the winner in the women's category with 30:22.
