Six Poquoson runners complete Race Around the Base 10-Mile Run
Six athletes from Poquoson completed the third annual Race Around the Base 10-Mile Run on Dec. 8 in Langley Air Force Base.
The runners from Poquoson and their finishing times were Matthew Mlachak, 27, 1:10:43; Corbin Armstrong, 15, 1:15:44; Frank Gross, 60, 1:19:32; Peter Coen, 52, 1:20:41; Richard Clifton, 49, 1:30:28; and Fanny Limon-Duparcmeur, 34, 1:31:33.
According to race organizers, a total of 88 runners finished the 10-mile race, which began and ended at Shellback Fitness Center.
David P. Lockard, of Hampton, was the men's overall winner with a finishing time of 1:05:33, while Carrie Wentzel, of Langley Air Force Base, was the winner in the women's category with a time of 1:18:12.
